Can't Live Without: Jack Purcell Sneakers

Converse Jack Purcell Pique-Cotton Canvas Sneakers $70

Converse Sneakers are probably one of the most recognized shoes in the world. We all have had a pair or two completely shredded because we believed that our Converse can go anywhere. That statement is completely true. One of the reasons why these sneakers are so iconic is because everyone can relate to a persona that the brand embraces. Find them at a basketball court, along the sidewalk on a skateboard, kicking up at a concert hall, or splashing in the rain at night getting a midnight snack. They have defined characters who are athletes, rebels, or musicians all infused with a subtext of youth. Although Converse generally keeps an urban edge they also have a more pristine counterpart who still represents the family name with style. Converse Jack Purcell are the classic sneakers named after a world champion badminton player. This style has a fresh preppy outlook with an almost nautical undertone that is fitting for Nantucket clam bakes, chino only invites, and Princeton Crew races. They are my go to casual shoe that look great with an academy sweater and khakis or even sprucing up wool blazers and slim fit jeans. These shoes are blue blooded but they definitely know how to handle themselves against the crowd.
